Description

Mechanism for vertical towbar.
Before installing the ball, make sure it is prepared for this. This can be seen from the color of the indicator on the ballpoint pen. The indicator should be red. If not, press down firmly on the knob and turn it (while holding it down) clockwise until it reaches the end position. The handle should remain in this position.
Remove the bottom plug on the towbar beam protecting the inside of the body from contamination. Make sure the inside of the housing is free from dust, sand, dirt, etc. Insert the ball into the housing from below so that the protruding pins fit into the specially prepared places in the housing. Do not touch the handle while inserting the mechanism into the housing.
Then pull the ball towards you (the pins on the left and right sides should be in the grooves on the body). The mechanism should automatically block the ball, and the handle should turn so that a green color appears in the window on the handle, and the handle itself pops out by about 5 mm.
Always check that the color in the dial window is green before using the system. Otherwise, disassemble the balls and start over from the beginning.
The lock in the mechanism serves only as an anti-theft device. It is not an element affecting the safe use of the system. It is safe to use the towbar without a locked key lock if the mechanism is correctly installed as described above.
Close the mechanism lock by turning the key half a turn clockwise. Once the key has been removed, it is not possible to press and turn the handle, and therefore it is impossible to detach the ball. If the mechanism can be closed with a key, then the ball is installed correctly. The most important indicator is the flywheel window, which must be green before towing. Remember to remove the key from the lock before towing. The quick release ball system is now ready for use.
